OLYMPIA Controversial anti-tax activist Tim Eyman began rolling out the instruments of his 2020 campaign for governor Monday.
He launched a website, registered his campaign with the state, reregistered as a voter in Bellevue and declared hell compete as an independent rather than as a Republican, the political party with which hes been long associated.
You will see a run for governor like youve never seen, he told reporters in an hour-long session in the Secretary of States Office.

Running as an independent is a decision he said he reached Saturday night. All the initiatives hes run and been linked with have been about ideas, he said. None had a party label after it, he said, adding he wants his campaign to be about ideas in the same way.

(906 posts)anti Eyman!
I think he is one afraid to to down the name republican as the trend seems to be for many. For fear it will connect him to trump.
And he is running to see how much he can slip into his own pockets from the campaign contributions.
The only thing is if he actually won he might figure out it takes taxes to help run a state. Maybe he should start out smaller like a mayor and work his way up.
I do not like that guy. Hope he gets put in jail.
It seems weird that you can run for a political office with criminal charges pending against you. Maybe new rules are needed.
