Floodwaters close roads, threaten homes around Snoqualmie Valley
NEAR CARNATION, Wash. - Neighbors rode out what looks to be the final night of flood waters pushing up to their homes in Snoqualmie Valley. Nearly a dozen road closures are also in effect from this latest storm.
Along SE 28th Street, just off Hwy 202, water that crested the banks of the Snoqualmie River ended up spilling across a road and swept through the front yards of several homes. Driveways were covered two feet deep, and the buildings got encircled by what poured out of the river.
The whole valley is just full of water, one man said, who stopped for gas as he made his way through Carnation. It looks like it's just a giant lake."
Much of the valley is a maze of detours because of the number of road closures. County crews had to block off at least 10 roads because the water across them was so deep.
