AG Ferguson goes after 'ghost guns'; gun laws debated in Olympia
Attorney General Bob Ferguson has resumed his "ghost gun" legal duel with the Trump administration, mobilizing 21 states to fight a a revived bid by the administration to allow plug-and-play access to 3-D printed guns that are untraceable and hard to detect even by metal detectors.
An initial bid to allow instructions for "ghost guns" on the Internet was blocked by a U.S. District Court judge in Seattle. But the Trump administration has gone back to the drawing boards, proposing new rules that would allow access to 3-D gun files.
"Why is the Trump Administration working so hard to allow domestic abusers, felons and terrorists access to untraceable, undetectable 3-D printed guns?" Ferguson asked in a statement.
Gun policy is also taking center-stage in the Washington Legislature's week-old session. Gun rights supporters rallied at the State Capitol on Friday -- with a fiery speech by Rep. Matt Shea, R-Spokane Valley -- and the Senate Law and Justice Committee heard testimony Monday.
