New drive-thru COVID-19 testing site opens in Seattle for first responders

SEATTLE -- A new drive-thru site is now open in south Seattle to test first responders for COVID-19.

The site, which is used to test police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers, opened Saturday.

First responders who believe they’ve been exposed to the coronavirus and are showing symptoms can make an appointment, pull up to the site in their vehicle, and have their nose swabbed.

The sample is then sent off to the University of Washington's Virology lab for testing.
