OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The owners of an Arlington gym that had been s operating in defiance of a state shutdown order issued to limit the spread of COVID-19 said Tuesday that they will close today in order to avoid punitive actions.
Managers of PA Fitness in Arlington told KOMO News that they would close at the end of the day in order to avoid large fines and a civil lawsuit filed by state Attorney General Bob Ferguson. He had given the owners of Northwest Fitness Company in Puyallup and PA Fitness in Arlington one last chance to shut down within 24 hours of Tuesday morning or he planned to go forward with the civil suit alleging violations against the Consumer Protection Act.
Another gym, Northwest Fitness Company in Puyallup, has also been facing civil sanctions from the state.
