Thousands join Seattle rallies in ninth day of protests
SEATTLE, Wash. (KOMO) - A series of rallies on Saturday marked the ninth day of protests in Seattle since George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis police custody.
The first, a health care community "March for Justice," marched from Harborview Medical Center to Seattle City Hall during the morning hours.
An estimated 7,000 peaceful protesters took part, including many doctors, nurses and other health care professionals.
They carried signs saying "Racism is a Public Health Emergency" and "White Coats for Black Lives" and "Black Futures Matter."
