Boeing picks Texas not the Puget Sound region for its new global services business headquarters

Boeing has decided to locate the world headquarters for its new Global Services business unit in Plano, Texas, the jet manufacturer said Wednesday.

The Boeing Global Services headquarters, led by its new CEO Stan Deal, will be located in the sprawling Legacy West mixed-use development in West Plano, near Dallas.

It will be operational in July, Boeing announced in a news release.

Boeing said the company selected the greater Dallas area because "it's centrally located within Boeing's U.S. footprint, has good proximity to major operations for commercial customers and defense partners, and serves as a transportation hub that will allow the company to reach customers quickly and efficiently."
