With redistricting, our Rep. Is GOPPER Dave Reichert, from the Isaquah area. He's not an extreme rightie, but I'm glad he's retiring nonetheless. Dr. Kim Schrier has my interest, of all the Dem aspirants.

they voted out the Speaker of the House for nothing. That was just stupid. Shows how powerful money can be.

They did it because they could. It was one of the first times that kind of national money and influence was fed into a local race like that.

They did it to Daschle, too.

Even Republicans had good things to say about her.

I heard Republicans saying that they don't like McMorris Rogers, but I couldn't get a handle on why.

They're kind of falling out of favor, and Trumpism isn't carrying the same weight, long term.

This district and 8 (with Reichert retiring) are two seats I'd love for our state to flip.

...and CA can flip the 9 red districts they're favored to...the left coast will provide 1/3 of the seats we need to take the House.

1) Someone who I am very close to for 5 decades and who has never voted for a Democrat said "If the Democrats don't win in a landslide then the country is finished". He is a devout Catholic and is very concerned about abortion. We have a "no politics" agreement which I thought was to avoid conflict with him. It turns out his wife "has gone over to the dark side" and watches Fox News. He is a traditional Republican with advanced degrees and absolutely despises Trump.

2) In Eastern WA you have to feel around about politics and don't deal with it directly but once you know its a friendly you can let your guard down. Everybody I met was either enthusiastically Democratic, quiet but absolutely no trump, or quiet for Trump. No one was saying that they are for Trump in the open. The closest RW response I got is "Obama was bad, etc". No one wanted to publicly support Trump.

3) I was shocked that people openly speculated that McMorris-Rogers (I personally knew her father in law who was Mayor of Spokane and was a Rockefeller Republican and would have hated Ryan and Trump) was finished.

4) Everybody had positive things to say about the likely Democratic challenger Dr. Brown who besides winning with 65% for her Senate seat in Spokane became the administrator of a very popular WSU Medical school in Spokane.

The bottom line is that there are no undecideds. The most common response I have heard from non DUers all over the country is "I don't want to talk about it any more, lets just get this guy out of here". Trump has committed the worst political sin, he has become boring.

Everyone falls into one of 4 categories:

1) Enthusiastic Democrat
2) Enthusiastic Trump Hater (both Democrats and Republicans)
3) Borderline Republican supporter who may or may not vote
4) Trump defender

The only unknown, IMHO, is how many number 3 voters are going to stay home.

I haven't found anybody that is truly undecided at this point.

A blue wave is already there, most people including most Democrats, are already fed up with it and can't wait for the next election cycle to be over.

to this eastern Washington Democrat. I live in a very red part of a blue state. Looking forward to seeing a Democrat elected in place of McMorris-Rodgers. We are a small, but steadily growing contingency of dedicated people who want to break the R hold on this side of the state. I was contacted by the Central WA State Democratic liaison, who asked to meet with me to discuss involvement in the upcoming election run up. We will be meeting next week. Our Congressional lap dog is Dan Newhouse. He is being challenged by Christine Brown, a political newcomer looking to unseat him. Remember that name! She would be an excellent choice to unseat Newhouse, and I intend to support and work in her campaign. #resist

It s only by taking back congress AND local and state positions that we'll break the stranglehold the RW has on our Democracy. Keep us posted on your efforts.
