'White supremacist' gets 20 days in jail after getting kicked out of felony diversion program
PORT ORCHARD A self-proclaimed white supremacist facing two hate crime felonies from 2017 was kicked out of his felony diversion program and sentenced last month to 20 days in jail after being accused of punching a woman outside a Bremerton bar.
Matthew Stephan Holland, 27, was charged with fourth-degree assault and disorderly conduct for the alleged Aug. 8, 2018, assault outside the Drift Inn. He is scheduled for trial March 14.
Holland faced two counts of malicious harassment after he was accused in 2017 of being drunk at the Kitsap Mall and harassing a woman who was playing Pokemon. He was accused of aggressively questioning the woman as to whether she had a green card, causing a scuffle.
The Kitsap Sun spoke to the woman, who said she is from the Philippines, is a U.S. citizen and has lived in the country for 30 years. At the time, she said she was focused on the game and was surprised Holland approached her.
