It's not over yet: More snowflakes in Seattle's future

Just when the sunshine and clear, blue skies let you think winter was coming to an end, more snow became possible for lowland areas of Western Washington.

Most of Wednesday was expected to be dry for lowland interior areas, including Seattle. However, a system was expected to move in Wednesday night, bringing with it showers of mostly snow, according to a National Weather Service briefing emailed to reporters.

Precipitation was expected to begin as a rain/snow mix for areas below 300-500 feet, with snow levels dropping to sea level later in the evening or early morning hours. Accumulations of 1-2 inches were possible in the Cascade foothills and lowland areas in Snohomish County and farther north.

King County and south should expect an inch or less of accumulation.
