Thousands Of Bicyclists Will Hit Area Roads For STP
SEATTLE, WA WSDOT is advising Puget Sound drivers to prepare for delays during the 2019 Kaiser Permanente Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic, which begins Saturday at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Some 8,000 bicyclists will take part in the two-day STP ride. The route passes through the heart of the region, beginning along the shores of Lake Washington before heading south through Renton, Kent, and Puyallup along various state highways.
In our region, the biggest impact will be seen along Lake Washington Boulevard and Rainier Avenue South, SR 181 through Renton and Kent, and SR 7 in Pierce County. Bicyclists will be passing through those areas in the morning hours on Saturday and into the afternoon.
The ride continues on Sunday across the southeast part of the state along SR 507, SR 506, SR 411, and along local streets near Centralia and Chehalis.
