Fuck Scott Walker

A dear friend was a finalist for a faculty position in Eau Claire, she was to fly in on Sunday for her on-site interview. The serach was cancelled today because of Walker's cuts to higher ed for his fucking basketball court.

(Semi-retired in one case.) They report that, as you might expect, the university is filled with anxiety and despair.

And I've heard all the excuses, that Democrats ran a "weak Democratic contender", but fact remains, even a weak Democrat at the head of State is still better than this p.o.s. Koch-lackey who's getting rich off of denying their children a decent education.

don't lump those who fought him with those who voted for him. I find it insulting. I didn't vote for him. I went to Madison to protest against him.

Many will be retiring or searching for positions in other states because of Walker's latest move. This was the final straw for many, but I honestly think he has more punishment to dish out to UW System and other state employees. It makes him look bold. What a nightmare.

This is what he meant in Iowa when he said conservatives should "go big and go bold." I work at UW-La Crosse amd we're all waiting for the other shoe to drop...or more like the sixth shoe.

Every Republican has to have his bogeyman. Reagan had the Soviets, BushII had Al Qaeda, and Walker has...us.

To all of you DU'ers who have fought this goggle-eyed homunculus (thank to Charlie Pierce of Esq.com), you have all my admiration and compassion. I am sure you more than any of us have puzzled and puzzled 'til your puzzler was sore ... how in HELL did this obnoxious, hate-filled moron win AGAIN???

To all the faculty throughout the UW system--my heart goes out to you as ignorance stomps its way through the state house. To your friend who just had her hopes smashed to hell, I hope she finds a good position somewhere where her skills will be appreciated.

I am a Badger by affection. My husband and son both got their undergrad degrees at UW Madison. They both had excellent academic experiences decades apart. So now, Scottie tries to score more ignorance points by destroying a very fine higher education system that has served the state so well.

I guess educated people don't vote Republican ...

Thank you for that. I hope one day my home state reverts back to its progressive roots. Right now it's hard to recognize this place as Wisconsin. We've always been weird politically (how else do you explain throwing out Russ Feingold then electing Tammy Baldwin) but this is surreal.

I think we are to Koch brothers' little experiment. Their Petri dish, as it were.

I'v been a teacher/adminstrator for 30+ years. Run a good small school that gets results. Can't take the state on my back anymore. And I was a Madison protester, too.
