Mitt Romney and NASCAR team owner Richard Petty will campaign in Dubuque as the GOP presidential candidate makes his final lap in Iowa this weekend, hoping for a victory on Nov. 6.

Doors open at 10 a.m. and the event begins at noon on Saturday at the Dubuque Regional Airport, 11000 Airport Road. For tickets, go to MittRomney.com/ia.

Petty’s appearance could help Romney appeal to working-class voters in two battleground states – Iowa and nearby Wisconsin across the river.

Petty is a team owner who retired from racing after 200 official career NASCAR victories in a career that stretched from 1958 to 1992. He won the Daytona 500 seven times and is considered a legend in the sport. He’s as well known for his successes as for surviving spectacular crashes. The North Carolina resident now runs Richard Petty Motorsports..........
