Question about who or what groups are excluded from RTW bill.....

Seems like Fitz is giving special rights to businesses (and the usual firefighters and police unions).

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald kicked off the hearing before the the Senate Labor and Government Reform Committee, saying the law to prohibit private sector workers from being forced to pay union dues "will establish workplace freedom."

Democrats asked Fitzgerald why chambers of commerce and other business organizations aren't included in the law to prevent their members from being forced to pay membership dues to cover costs of services they receive from the groups.

Fitzgerald said he understood the question, but he declined to respond.

He and other backers of the proposal said it would improve conditions for business investment, but one owner of a growing construction business differed.

"I ask you why are you doing this to my company?" said Jim Hoffman, owner of Hoffman Construction in Black River Falls...............

The main Operating Engineers' Union in the state has supported Walker, hence the exemption.
