Related: About this forumWisconsin: Public hearings on the Wisconsin state budget and the UW System
from my email ....
Dear Scuba,
The Wisconsin legislature continues to discuss the 2015-17 state budget and to consider the impact that this budget will have on the University of Wisconsin System. As part of the legislative process, the state's budget-writing Joint Committee on Finance will be holding four public hearings on Governor Walker's 2015-17 budget proposal.
We strongly encourage you as a supporter of UW-Madison to consider attending a budget hearing in your area. All interested individuals are given an opportunity to register their opinions on the state budget and to speak before the members of the committee. This is an excellent opportunity to let your voice be heard.
The budget hearings and locations are:
Wednesday, March 18 (10:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.)
Brillion High School
Endries Performing Arts Center
W1101 County Road HR

If you can't make it to a hearing but want to register your opinion on the budget and its impact on UW-Madison you can contact your legislator directly.
Lastly, you might be interested in seeing this video from UW-Madison assistant professor Lt. Col. John Hall, talking about his experience teaching at UW--Madison. Professor Hall is one example of the many great faculty members at UW-Madison.
Thank you for your advocacy on behalf of UW-Madison,

OP
Nice to see these hearings are being arranged at different locations and times.

(3,974 posts)2. Nice choice of locations
One in Milwaukee, but the other three in Brillion, Reedsburg, and Rice Like? Why not just schedule one in Presque Isle if they really want to keep participation down. I can't help but remember the Act 10 sessions around the state in which the Republicans running things didn't even pretend to listen to the many well prepared people who came to speak. They made it very clear that they were just going through the motions. No doubt Darling and Vukmir will be at their most patronizingly repellent for these "hearings". Still, it's an opportunity to be heard, I guess...
