Scott Walker backs off on supporting Boy Scouts' ban on gay leaders

..............In February 2013, Walker declined to say whether the Boy Scouts of America should lift its ban on gay troop leaders and employees. He said the topic never came up when he was in Scouts, and he didn't want to weigh in on a private organization's policies..................
But on Tuesday, asked about the Boy Scouts' vote to lift the ban, now-presidential candidate Walker told the conservative website IJ Review he "support(s) the previous membership policy because it protected children and advanced Scout values."
LGBT rights advocates, including Rep. Mark Pocan and the Human Rights Campaign, called on Walker to renounce his statement.
...............By Wednesday, Walker had circled back to his 2012 position.
"When asked about gay leaders in the Boy Scouts, Scott Walker repeatedly tells reporters that its a decision best left to the Boy Scouts," the Washington Post's Jenna Johnson tweeted from a Walker event in South Carolina.................

There is as much teaparty corruption, hate and racism in Southeast California as there is anywhere in America.

(4,450 posts)The people on DU are not the problem, whether they live in Wisconsin, Kansas, Mississippi, Texas, or wherever.
We Badgers are living in the Petri dish for corporate takeovers of states and most of us know it- at least most of us here on DU. That's why we've seen like a twentyfold increase in out-of-state spending, and it's almost all on one side.
What people in blue states should realize is that if they pulled this off in Wisconsin, a state that has gone for every single Dem candidate for President since Reagan, then they can pull it off almost anywhere. Probably not California or Mass. or Hawaii, etc... but if you live someplace like Illinois, or Michigan, or even Minnesota, you better look out because you could be next.

They not only want to own everything and make all the decisions, they want to punish those who voted for that Black man.
