Related: About this forumWhy are people giving Brett Favre so much attention?
He did have winning years, 20 years ago.
But he came out of "retirement" for money, to play for the Minnesota Vikings.
I'll never forgive him for that.

(3,226 posts)As a prod owner of the Greenbay Packers I was hart broken when I realized Brett had suffered Brain Damage and thought that his playing for the Vikings would be a good idea.

(8,510 posts)I was a fan until that very day he put his name on a contract for the Vikings. He didn't give a rip about his fans in Wisconsin. All he cared about was his money and his fame. Otherwise, he would have negotiated something with the Pack that in the end would have polished his legacy.
And now a stadium full of Packer fans just kissed his feet and cried giant tears over seeing him in Lambeau again.
Not me.

Here's the LINK to the video on the Packer's site. Sure he's a millionaire from Mississippi, and it's just a game, but I forgot about all the horrible things going on in Wisconsin for a few minutes.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel has a poll up on the site:
Brett Favre choked up when he addressed the fans at Lambeau Field on Saturday. Did you?
Yes (61%)
No (39%)

I'll admit I answered "Yes". What the hell is wrong with me?

(184 posts)But I can't help but feel he gave the fans a big FU when he signed with the Vikings. That wasn't just about money, it was personal. The stuff he supposedly did in NY with that Jets girl doesn't help. I loved watching him play and loved going to the Super Bowl, but #4 will always have an asterisk after his name for me.

(4,450 posts)I would personally rather Herschel Walker be our Governor than Scott. Hey, maybe there's some way to make that happen.
