State projects 693 million shortfall

Madison — Expected state revenue over the next two years will fall $693 million short of what state agencies want to spend over that period, Gov. Scott Walker's administration reported Monday.

Though challenging, this projected shortfall is far less than the $2.2 billion potential gap that Walker and GOP lawmakers faced two years ago. The potential hole in this coming budget amounts to about 2% of the money that the agencies want to spend over the two-year period.

The budget gap this time could be bridged by cutting state agency requests by a smaller percentage than Walker and GOP lawmakers did during his first three budgets, according to a USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin analysis.

"Just as we've done since I've been governor, Wisconsin will have a balanced budget," Walker posted on Twitter. "We will put additional money into public schools, our technical colleges and the University of Wisconsin System in our budget."

I am sure Tammy Baldwin is toast next time she runs.

We're basically the same as Kansas now. We may elect a couple of D congress-critters now and again, but the days of Wisconsin being a battleground state are almost certainly over.

If the 300,000 who wanted to vote had been able to, surely Wisconsin would have remained blue. The strict voter ID laws are to blame. Recounting the votes that were cast says nothing about all of those missing votes. Expect the GOP to crack down on the VRA even harder next time, unless somebody does something. There are two years until the next election: could we get those potential voters some legit ID's?

Without them nobody would pay taxes.*

*Note: Notice that I didn't say that any of the alleged job creators paid any taxes.

with no benefits jobs in a DIY store,Hendricks and her Roofing Supply Company with a monopoly for Roofing Materials in Wisconsin. And our friends the Koch Brothers dumping toxins in the Rivers from their Paper Plants and Refineries. Last I heard,Wisconsin was one of the hardest hit with job losses since Snot Face became the so called Governor.
