GOP on Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wi): "like watching a temper tantrum by a 2-year-old"

From Blue Cheddar

The Washington DC based newspaper Roll Call is reporting that Ron Johnson, the freshman U.S. Senator from Wisconsin, is ready to replace most of his staff with people who can help him refocus his energies on political messaging. I assume political messaging would include hanging out with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, spewing propaganda on Fox News, and headlining the Young America’s Foundation’s Freedom Conference in Milwaukee.

Johnson is reportedly disenchanted that serving in the legislature necessitates having to spend a lot of time legislating. In the Senate, you can’t be successful at advancing an agenda unless you can develop cordial and strategic relationships with other Senators and staffers – not Johnson’s strong suit. Hence, the new focus on “messaging” to help Senator Johnson fill his work day.

Roll Call describes the bad feelings between Johnson and his staff as one of the worst-kept secrets in Washington. At least one Johnson staffer has found a position in another Senator’s office with help from the Senate Republican Steering Committee. Numerous sources state that most of Johnson’s current staff will soon be transferred or let go. Johnson denies it all.

“He’s an interesting case study of someone who has talked more than he has listened, lectured more than he has developed relationships with his colleagues, and now he’s having a tough time because of that behavior in advancing his policy goals,” one senior GOP aide said. “It’s kind of like watching a temper tantrum by a 2-year-old in the middle of the grocery store.”

No political experience. Married money. Claimed to be such a business builder. From the history I read on the useless prick, Johnson, he was never much more than a lying a$$hole.

I voted for Feingold and supported him in every election.

Now is the time to start the process to get the idiot Johnson out of office. He's a teabaggin' kkklucker with nothing to offer except to use up good air.

James Carville said that Pennsylvania is Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and Alabama in between.

Well, imho, Wisconsin is Madison and Milwaukee and Alabama in between.

It is just sad.

... Waukesha & Washington Counties, plus the Fox River Valley (Red), and the rest of the State (Blue). Losing Feingold was awful and the Wisconsin Democratic Party should have been carefully scrutinized afterwards. At my local level, they fail badly.

I just got around to reading the Roll Call article itself. Near the end is this gem:

Still, Johnson also has high-profile backers in GOP campaign circles. Foster Friess, the billionaire who until recently was a major backer of the presidential campaign of former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), told FOX News on Wednesday that Johnson should be on GOP presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney’s short list of vice presidential candidates.

A worthy successor to Sarah Palin?

... the man can't speak in complete sentences, has never had an original idea and thinks the purpose of women is to have rich daddies so he can marry a fortune.

Would he have to resign his Senate seat? That would help our State and Nation.

in the unlikely event he were named. (Well, Romney might feel most comfortable with another successful businessman, but the party would never allow it.) Someone in the article did say that he will probably get tired of the Senate and resign part way through the term (yes, please!).
