Anyone going fishing next weekend? The Lake Wissota protest last year received statewide press coverage- I wonder if they will try to keep the protests out of sight this year?
From facebook:
"Why is Governor Walker going to have all the fun? Join us on Saturday, May 5, to show Walker how WE like to have fun... This year marks the 46th annual WI Governor's Fishing Opener - to be held at Trego Lake, near Spooner, WI, on Saturday, May 5.
But Wisconsin Workers are planning a fishing opener of their own! Let's show our governor a thing or two about fishing, eating, and enjoying the outdoors!
Invited guests include the WI 14 and other Wisconsin Democrats in addition to ALL Wisconsin workers."

From Leader-Telegram:
"The 47th Governor's Fishing Opener, sponsored by Wisconsin Indian Head Country, a tourism promotion organization for northwestern Wisconsin, will be at the Trego Flowage this year. The flowage is a 450-acre impoundment of the Namekagon River in Washburn County. The event, which includes media and state and local government officials, was started with Gov. Warren Knowles in 1965.
Last year, the event on Lake Wissota attracted protesters of Gov. Scott Walker's policies who held a "Workers' Opener" at Lake Wissota State Park. This year a Workers' Opener is being planned at the Trego Flowage, said Roger Skifstad of Chippewa Falls, an organizer of last year's protest."
