Related: About this forumWalker was in my Daughter's school this morning! Grrr.
After walking my daughter to school I was surprised to see a news truck pull up to the building. Continuing past, another dad from the school waved me down and told me he got word at 6:00 A.M. that Walker had called a surprise press conference to announce his new 3rd grade literacy goal. (He's good at making promises and setting goals, isn't he? Just worse at keeping them--how's that 250,000 jobs goal coming Scottie?)
So, that dad, myself, and a fellow recaller grabbed some signs and a petition clipboard and set ouirselves up on the sidewalk outside the school. Walker was inside bloviating, we were outside collecting a dozen signatures. Plus, afterwards a couple TV stations interviewed us and took shots for their shows.
Nice thing too, even in a blood-red district, we collected far more signatures than flip-offs. That's a very good sign.

I would have turned around and taken my kid right back home. He would be absent for the cause.
