Madison Politiscope: Liberal group creates blog for Wisconsin's 'dumb senator'

It has become relatively commonplace in Wisconsin for politicians to imply that their opponents are corrupt, immoral or stupid.

And yet, even as candidates spend millions of dollars on TV ads to portray their adversaries as wretched bottom feeders and nitwits, they often hesitate to say directly what they want voters to conclude.

One Wisconsin Now, a group run by Democratic operative Scot Ross, does not fuss over such rhetorical subtleties. On Friday the organization, which focuses on digging up dirt on Republicans, unveiled a new blog, Our Dumb Senator, dedicated to the alleged intellectual shortcomings of Wisconsin’s junior senator, Ron Johnson.

The site includes dozens of quotes from Johnson, as well as commentary on his perceived idiocy. The latter is largely gleaned from various liberal bloggers, who have held Johnson in particular contempt since he defeated former Sen. Russ Feingold – a progressive hero – two years ago.

Has he done anything in the past two years? The guy's invisible! Totally useless.

If Wisconsin doesn't already regret dumping Feingold for this useless chump, it will.
