Wisconsin
Related: About this forumWhat will be the Republican agenda in Wisconsin?
For starters, here's a list taken from a reader posting in the Cap Times comments section:
With complete control of both houses in Wisconsin we could have the following bills on the table for hardworking Wisconsin families.
1. Right to Work
2. Additional cuts to state aid to school districts and municipalities
3. Major expansion of the school voucher program
4. Additional cuts to the state university system
5. Deregulation of the Payday Loan interest caps
6. Reduction in taxes for manufacturers
7. A deregulated mining bill
8. Deregulation for the fracking sand industry
9. A complete takeover of the Department of Public Instruction
10. State mandated changes to Science and History curriculum in K-12 schools
11. A move to privatization of the state prison system
12. Additional regulation of renewable energy sources
13. Revisiting the Wisconsin retirement system

I think they will quickly push through a mining bill, go after the WRS, and obliterate and profitize both k-12 education and the UW-System. What else is on the agenda and how can it be slowed, if not stopped?

(3,577 posts)Patience Roggensack is up for reelection in April next year, and the campaign for her successor should start tomorrow. (I have no idea who that person should be.)

(2,354 posts)Memorable line from Goodfellas summarizes it nicely....
- Strangle, maim, cripple, bury or dispose of government/union/communitarian and/or green function.
- Proceed to the check out line:
Apologies for the vulgarism, but there's nothing civilized about their agenda. Period.

(3,974 posts)At least the Mob only f**ks up a few people and not a whole state.
This bunch is so, so bad. We know the people of Wisconsin are going to suffer in the months and years ahead. This is just going to be crazy.

(2,354 posts)Number 1 -- divide and conquer in pure form ("right to work for less" , then 4 items in a row about how to dumb down critical thinking, then after all that hard work, time to remember a pay-off:
2. Additional cuts to state aid to school districts and municipalities
3. Major expansion of the school voucher program
4. Additional cuts to the state university system
5. Deregulation of the Payday Loan interest caps
