WI RW Nutbag to Run for Chief of Schools

Creationism in the classroom? Abstinence only? More abuse of educators?

Must be stopped!

State Superintendent Tony Evers may face a challenge from State Rep. Don Pridemore for the top spot overseeing the state’s education system.

Pridemore, a conservative lawmaker from Erin, filed papers to form an exploratory committee to consider running for superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction during the spring election on April 2.

“The status quo has simply not been working when it comes to our schools. After spending billions of dollars on education in Wisconsin, we have not moved the needle one bit. Our children’s education has suffered as a result and I believe it’s time to change that.” Pridemore said in a news release Wednesday. “I believe it’s time for a fresh set of ideas and a common sense approach to educational opportunities here in Wisconsin.”

Pridemore is one of nine republicans that supported a law to nullify Barack Obama’s healthcare law and allow police to arrest federal officials who implement it, according to JSOnline.

But I guess Pridemore has the potential to be just as bad. Other than serving on a few education committees, no background that would qualify him for that position.

Some of his "pet" projects last session were:

1. Doing away with the regulations on puppy mills.

2. Arizona-style "papers please" immigration law - I'm guessing we'll see this back this upcoming session.

Because, what our state needs is more unwanted puppies, and fewer brown people.

3. Voter ID. This man has actually gone into a neighboring Assembly District (that of Dem. Fred Kessler) on Election Day and challenged voters himself. It was during the hearings on Voter ID that Pridemore, a former computer programmer, explained how the voting machines can be hacked.

When I went to his office to talk with him about the election issues, my eyes kept being drawn to the Gadsten flag draped in the corner. I really wanted to ask him about the provision in our State Constitution that prohibits the display of any flag other than the U.S. or the Wisconsin flag in the Capitol without express permission of the Governor.

i was a county chair at the time and had a good natured running discussion with the chair in washington county as to which county had the most wingnuts

after the election i told him i conceeded.
washington county was more nutso

the crazies are much better at their game these days--witness the recall and the state races

Two important statewide elections: Public Instruction and Supreme Court. Turn out Milwaukee and Madison like three weeks ago and everything will be fine.
