AARP - Governor's plan "mostly smoke and mirrors"

http://states.aarp.org/governors-plan-mostly-smoke-and-mirrors/

From the article:

AARP Wisconsin today expressed extreme concern and disappointment with Governor Walker’s decision not to fully embrace the expansion of Medicaid services, which would have assured sustained health insurance coverage for approximately 175,000 low-income Wisconsinites who have no children living in their household.

-snip-

“The governor’s coverage of childless adults is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Asking the lowest on the economic ladder to pay more when a logical, cheaper alternative exists isn’t a hand up, it’s a push down,” Dicks said. “The governor had a fantastic opportunity to provide full Medicaid benefits to an additional 175,000 Wisconsinites, and he chose not to do that.”

Hey Walker supporters, feeling let down? Feel like the Fact Free Fear and Hate Fox Network has left you without any arrows in your quiver to use against those awful libruls?

Well just take a double-dose of Koch Brothers Toxic Sludge - Guaranteed to End Your Suffering.

And it costs only pennies, which is a good thing, because that's all you'll be making under the new Koch-sponsored government, regardless if you are public or private sector workers.

Remember, Unions destroyed America by creating weekends, 40-hour work weeks, overtime pay and they even denied children the right to work in factories like God intended.

Enjoy Koch Brothers Toxic Sludge!

is that he succeeded in turning working-class people against each other. He vilified unions and teachers and public employees and a lot of middle-class workers bought into his lies and smears. He even weakened the schools their children go to and they stood around and applauded and called it a good thing...cuz you know, taxes.

I won't even get started on ALEC, WEDC, voter suppression efforts, gerrymandering, and all the other bullshit Walker is ramming down out throats.

He really is a nightmare for Wisconsin. Toxic sludge is the perfect description.

it for him..

"Public Assistance Programs
As the state was on the verge of announcing the takeover of county public assistance programs that were failing to service the county’s neediest, Walker announced he was asking the state to take over public assistance programs. He blamed the state for cutting funding for child care, food stamps and medical assistance, yet has himself underfunded county health and human services throughout his tenure.
Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker on Monday called for the state to take over administration of major public assistance programs from the county. Walker's call for a state takeover follows a series of warnings from the state over shortcomings in the county's administration of public assistance programs.
A state funding cut four years ago for administration of child care, food stamps and medical assistance has made it difficult for the county to run the programs properly, Walker said. Since then, caseloads have grown and serious problems have surfaced with the county's job in running the programs.
Walker's release of his letter to state Health Services Secretary Karen Timberlake coincides with meetings that Timberlake and state Administration Secretary Michael Morgan were holding with Milwaukee legislators and others. The state officials were to meet with County Board Chairman Lee Holloway on the topic today."
