Walker and friends are at it again...

http://www.thewheelerreport.com/wheeler_docs/files/0219larsonlassapasch.pdf

“Republicans began their war on bargaining rights with Act 10, and with this bill they have now turned their attention to private sector unions,” Senate Minority Leader Chris Larson (D-Milwaukee) said. “This bill is a clear opening shot at undermining private sector unions.”
“This is the beginning of ‘divide and conquer’ part two,” said State Senator Julie Lassa (D-Stevens Point). “The Farrow-Brooks bill says that private sector unions shouldn’t be able to negotiate for their members. It’s one more step toward their goal of ending the right of Wisconsin citizens to have their voice heard in the workplace.”

2. They are trying to scapegoat Obama's Work-sharing push

I get work-sharing, it's what they tend to do in Europe. If there's a need for a 20% cut, rather than layoff 20% of workers, they cut everyone's hours by 20% and the difference in pay is partially (if not fully) made up in UE benefits and no one looses their other employer provided benefits. But that's with the consent of labor, management and unions. Not so in this GOP POS.

Griffiths noted that President Barack Obama is encouraging states to adopt work-sharing laws.

But nationally, in all but one of the 24 states with work-sharing laws, union representatives must agree to the reduction in hours for their members, said Jeanne Mejeur, an analyst for the National Conference of State Legislatures.

In 2011, the Republican majority passed Act 10, which all but repealed public sector union rights.

"Republicans began their war on bargaining rights with Act 10, and with this bill they have now turned their attention to private sector unions," said Senate Minority Leader Chris Larson, D-Milwaukee. "This bill is a clear opening shot at undermining private sector unions."
