A: Republicans cherry pick only the parts that fit their demented points of view.
It's been pointed out numerous times on this blog and other sites that Republicans will readily cite the Bible or the Constitution only when it fits their arguments, even if means ignoring all the rest.
They're doing the same thing with the Wisconsin State Flag.
When trying to justify their massive giveaway to the mining companies, they often will point out that there is a miner on the flag, as if that makes it OK for them to trash the environment, sink the economy and disrespect sovereign tribes.
The funny thing is that the flag also has the arm of labor on it. That didn't seem to matter to them when they forced Act 10 down our throats, causing the state economy to come to a screeching halt and leading to a loss of over 15,000 jobs during Walker's reign.

The Chequamegon Democratic Party will meet Saturday, Mar 23, 9:30 am-11:30 am at the Bad River Convention Center. The meeting will focus on mining. We will have a guest speaker from Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa discuss their opposition to the proposed GTAC mine in the Penokee Hills of Ashland and Iron Counties. Members of the Democratic Party and interested persons are invited to attend.
If anyone is near this area and can attend-let us know what this meeting suggests...

(2,284 posts)The miner on the flag is holding a pick axe and not explosives. Pick axe mining was not nearly as polluting as the type of mining that is done now. And it is underground mining that is much less disruptive to the area than that huge open pit monstrosity is.
