CLIP: VIKING RESEARCHER

Tonight on CBC-TV, The Nature of Things will air a documentary about the work of Pat Sutherland, the Canadian archaeologist who has discovered North America's second Viking site, on Baffin Island. It's called The Norse: An Arctic Mystery.

We've got a differerent mystery on our minds.

Last month, Carol spoke with Pat Sutherland, after her findings were published in National Geographic. It seemed like we were getting to the end of the interview when Carol asked Ms Sutherland when she would return to continue her research.

We wanted an explanation. Canada's Museum of Civilization confirmed that Ms. Sutherland was no longer the curator of its Archaeological Survey of Canada -- but offered no explanation. Their representative described it as a personnel issue.
