"SNIP.......

Two planes collided at Toronto Pearson airport on Friday night, the Greater Toronto Airport Authority said.

A WestJet Boeing 737-800 aircraft had 168 passengers and six crew on board, and was stationary while waiting to proceed to the gate when the collision occurred, according to WestJet.

.......

MacDonald also said the WestJet craft was clipped by the Sunwing plane as the latter backed out from a gate. The Sunwing plane caught fire.

Pearson authorities confirmed fire and emergency services responded and passengers were evacuated via an emergency slide.

A plane catching fire when a bunch of other planes surround it, many with full fuel tanks. Even though it wasn't a midair collision, there was plenty of potential for a major disaster there. Glad it was averted.

Someone is going to catch hell for this though.
