Redford gives Mulcair’s Alberta visit a miss

from: http://www.calgaryherald.com/opinion/Alison+Redford+gives+Thomas+Mulcair+Alberta+visit+miss+Share+your/6708446/story.html

"As NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair arrived in Alberta to tour the oilsands, Premier Alison Redford was meeting with global financial and political leaders at an elite and secretive gathering Alberta premiers have only rarely been asked to join.

Redford’s invitation to this year’s Bilderberg meeting in Chantilly, Va., signals energy issues will figure prominently in the private but informal discussions among politicians and royalty, academics and presidential advisers, billionaires and bank chairmen from both sides of the Atlantic, say observers."

1 month ago, Albertans were forced to choose between the lesser of 2 evils, a wingnut libertarian, and a Conservative. If we needed any more proof of what sham our perception of democracy or legislative representation is, this is a good example of whom Allison Redford's constituents are, and whose interests she represents. Among the 1% of the 1% that she is hobnobbing with, she is joined by Harper's Chief of Staff, (former bagman for Goldman Sachs... ahem) BOC Chairman Carney, and other Canadian banking elites.

So despite all of fuss and phony controversy that our establishment media has fabricated over Mulcair's "dutch disease" rhetoric being so divisive, west-bashing, and threatening unity; the cheerleader of oil sands exploitation, and champion of the resource draining pipelines scurries off when her masters beckon.

Lets hope that Mulcair and the NDP use this episode to illustrate who's priorities are patriotic, and who's are to sell out.
