The American Medical Insurance corporations have funded the Conservative Party with millions and millions of dollars over the years and now that the Conservatives have the majority, these corporations want a return on their investment, namely, privatized health insurance and the demolition of nationalized health care. And Harper will gladly give it them. After all, his family won't be affected.

Alberta was just a testing ground, that is, how much bullshit will the people take? The Klein government literally blew up a major hospital, the General, in the centre of the fasting growing city in Canada and closed the doors on two other smaller one, the Holy Cross and the Grace. Then, when the wait times for surgeries lengthened and emergency rooms became more crowded, that government had the insolence to suggest that public health care was the problem and that Alberta should privatize its health care. The results of this experiment and the sacrifices of those who needlessly died because of it showed that people will actually take a lot of bullshit. There are people who actually believe private health care like in the US, where the wealthy get the best and the poorest get to die off, is better than nationalized health care where every one gets fair and equal access, just like in a democracy.
Now that private health care is oozing its way into the Alberta mainstream and those responsible for allowing it to happen are counting their kickbacks and bribes, the federal government and its Republican sugar daddies are moving to repeat that experiment on a national level.
But this time it won't be an experiment.

3rd rail if they are delusional enough to think

they can foist private health care on Canada when

only one third of Canadians voted for them, then let them

have at it.

If they think being reduced to 4 mp's and official

non-party status after forcing free trade on us

against the wishes of 87% of Canadians was bad

Canadians will wipe the Federal Conservative Party

off the political map if they attempt this.

Access to universal health care is big part of what it

means to be Canadian.

They can accept the mission from their corporate

over lords but it's a 100% guaranteed suicide run.
