The only comfort is that The Unspeakable actually lost the popular vote, like Bush before him - I'm beginning to think that it might be cheaper, less divisive, and equally representative just to toss a coin!
Obviously not happy to have American Psycho with the key to the world's biggest store of nukes; but what worries me the most is that his 'victory' may embolden the so-called alt-right (AKA internet-savvy neo-fascists) in the USA, UK and abroad. The Unspeakable is there for 4 years - yes, a loooooong 4 years - and I suspect that he may not even run for another term; but the damage done by opening Pandora's box of neo-fascism may take far longer to reverse.

(14,739 posts)Bad politicians have worked out that racism is a big vote winner. Especially with the elderly, and with aging populations the elderly have a very disprortionate influence.
