Liam Fox feeding ideas to Mitt Romney's Republicans

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/us-election/9500834/US-election-Liam-Fox-feeding-ideas-to-Mitt-Romneys-Republicans.html

'Dr Fox, a staunch fiscal Conservative and pre-eminent Tory Atlanticist, has maintained close links to the Republican presidential candidate despite losing his job last October over his working relationship with a defence lobbyist, Adam Werrity.

During Mr Romney's ill-fated visit to London before the Olympic Games, Dr Fox met with several of the Republican candidate's policy inner-circle, including Jim Talent, a former Missouri Senator who advises on economic and foreign issues...

"There is a willingness to deal with the debt issue, and people in Europe don't quite understand the difficulties that will be posed later in the decade if the America debt is not dealt with."

Dr Fox, who will be in Tampa, Florida, later this week to watch Mr Romney give a highly-anticipated acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, made clear that he believes a Republican victory would be a better fit for Britain. ...'

And much more at link:

Turns out that the Torygraph's very own Nile Gardner is also advising the Republicans. Not surprised!

Aren't there any rules about active incumbent politicians from one sovereign state getting directly involved in influencing the electoral politics of another sovereign state?

Incidentally, Jim Talent is generally known on other parts of DU as 'No-Talent'.

I thought it was the other way round, the GOP dictating to him what to write for the Torygraph.

Well his gumph in the Torygraph is always just a list of cliche-ridden GOP talking points!

Didn't you know?

All rich white men in the English-speaking world have a DOOTY to band together and crash the world economy while making off with the family silver.

You know it makes sense!
