Dennis Skinner booted from Commons after calling Cameron 'dodgy Dave'

Fiery veteran Labour MP Dennis Skinner has been removed from the House of Commons after repeatedly referring to the Prime Minister as ‘dodgy Dave.’

House speaker John Bercow asked the MP for Bolsover to withdraw the description during a commons session that focused on David Cameron’s tax affairs and the leak of the Panama papers.

But Skinner rejected Bercow’s request, and repeated the description, leading Mr Bercow to eject him from the Commons for the remainder of the day’s session.

Mr Skinner said: ‘Does the Prime Minister recall that at the time after he became Prime Minister under the coalition and at the time when he was dividing the nation between strivers and scroungers, I asked him a very important question about the windfall he received when he wrote off the mortgage of the premises in Notting Hill, and I said to him he didn’t write off the mortgage of the one taxpayers were helping to pay for at Oxford.

‘I didn’t receive a proper answer then. Maybe dodgy Dave will answer it now.’

Good to know that a few things don't change and that at 84, Skinner (presumably no relation to the head of DU!) is just as good as ever at annoying Tories.

He showed a friend and me around Parliament. She'd always wanted to meet him, got in contact, and he was more than happy to oblige. He even bought us a cup of tea in the stranger's bar. He addressed all the little people, cleaners, canteen workers, by name, and they all clearly liked him.

He's a smashing fellow, a really decent bloke.

At the time, the Duke of Rutland was threatening to lie in front of the first bulldozer clearing space for a new pit at the Vale of Belvoir.

Dennis offered to drive it.

My friend got upset with me because I farted in front of him. In my defence we were both using the urinals at the time.

Skinner: 'Half the Tory members opposite are crooks.'
Speaker: 'I ask the Hon. Gentleman to withdraw that remark.'
Skinner: 'OK, half the Tory members aren't crooks...'
