The 2010 US Senate Election could have given us a 50-50 tie had

The Republicans not nominated weak candidates in CO(Buck-R),DE(O'Donnell-R)and NV(Angle-R)
Republicans had 41 seats before 2010. They picked up AR,IL,IN,ND,PA,and WI. 47 seats. Had Republicans won CO(Norton-R),DE(Castle-R)and NV(Lowden-D) 50 seats.
The 2018 US Senate Election could give Democrats 49-53 seats.
Democrats pick up AZ,NV,TN,and TX but lose FL,IN,MO,and/or ND.
