A patriot is defined as: a person who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors.

This is Bernie Sanders, who has been a patriot his whole adult life. Those "enemies" he defends against are the enemies within, i.e., the blood-sucking One Percenters and corporate/banking/Wall Street crowd, and the American people's worst enemies of all, the bought and paid for politicians who enable the bloodsuckers and have sold their souls to Big Money to finance their campaigns and their post-elective office One Percent lifestyles.
