Somewhere I heard about Aviator, a browser...

supposedly big on security. It's based on Chrome, but no built in spy stuff, it clears history, cookies, and everything else when you close it, and the default search engine is DuckDuckGo.

So far so good. It does what a browser should, and very fast. I guess it's as secure as they say it is.

But, when I click a link a window pops up asking me if I want to install patch.exe.

There seems to be a lot of patch.exe's out there. Anyone have any idea what this one is?

(BTW, that popup is another thing I like about Win 8-- it's amazing how many things try to install themselves on your computer.)

However, I would still do a malware scan with two programs, just to be on the safe side, unless you know 100% that it is from Trend Micro.
