1. You shouldn't run two antivirus programs on your computer.

The use of both programs creates conflict problems that lead to the problem you are describing. You need to uninstall one of them.

2. These are antispyware not antivirus and I have had both for 10yrs or so.

They don't run in real time(their free) I usually check my machine on Sunday as part of my routine.

I have avast for my antivirus protection, since MSE started telling me they no longer support XP.

doesn't take anywhere that long on my system even with 3 different folding@home apps running in the background.

seven minutes. My Malwarebytes is Premium so I don't know if that's the difference.

6. The only choice I have is Threat Scan and Custom Scan, Hyper Scan not active in free version

My paid version suddenly started coming up with old stuff. I read an article that many of them are now considered to be potentially dangerous.
