Can someone tell me how to create a link in a post
That are the words from the link? I know I am saying that badly. A hyperlink I think it's called? So if I wanted to say, "in the new York Times article" if someone clicked on that it would take them to the article
Thank you for any help

(8,209 posts)I had no clue.
But how would one do it on another site which does not provide a link button?

(36,269 posts)Try creating a link in DU and see what the HTML code looks like. Then change DU's square brackets [] to angle brackets <> and it should work, or come close.

(4,243 posts)1. Copy the URL of the page you are going to link to.
2. Click "Start a discussion"
3. Give your thread a title
4. In the Message text portion type whatever words you want to type
5. Now, highlight whatever word you want to link to the URL. In this case let's use the word, whatever
6. After you highlight the word whatever click the box marked link at the top of the message text. A small box will pop up and ask you to enter the URL of the website you want to link to.
7.Enter the URL in the space provided and the word whatever will link to that URL when you click on it.
I hope this helps.

(17,997 posts)Thank you! You should leave it as a post. Then others that are Internet ignorant can find it!
