I haven't used any of the sites like Tweetdeck. So many require that they have the option to post for you. I know some who use the pay sites to get twitter followers, like $10 for 1000 followers, and so on. I just block them.

I use the mute option so someone who follows me and is obviously selling something. I do that instead of blocking them because blocking them loses a follower. There are some ugly sites I block immediately.

I would rather have fewer followers, but ones who care about what I am posting.
