I'm replacing a 9 y.o. $1,600 Lenovo with this - will I be disappointed? Yep, but I no longer have that kind of cash. Thanks, Bush.

Ask for a Microsoft engineer. You have to have an outlook.com email account to post there, but you can just dump that account later if you want. It will take up to a day or two to get an answer. Good luck.

I spent $500 earlier this year on a Samsung tablet. I despise it. I refuse to buy a smart phone too.

I had a top of the line Lenovo laptop that lasted 10 years, so imagine my surprise when I bought the Windows 8.1 laptop today and it's just like the tablet! I don't want fingerprints, I don't want to move my hands off the keyboard. I'm seriously old-school. And let's not forget I can type 125 wpm. I don't want a keyboard on the screen.

I'm returning it tomorrow. I can't find the right or left touchpad keys, so it's like using a computer without a mouse. I must be missing something.

I want Windows 10 because it's more like Windows 7. And I want my "mouse" on my touchpad! GRRRR, oh I'm so P.O.'d.

I'm wondering if they even make touchpad right/left clickers anymore...

I have a credit card at Best Buy, I'm looking at this:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-17-3-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-1tb-8gb-hybrid-hard-drive-black/6339015.p?id=1219661389849&skuId=6339015#

$1,300 and no right/left clickers either! Does this mean I need a mouse? Please laugh, it's funny. I'm laughing that they did away with the clickers and no one told me

On edit, the reason I like laptops is because I don't need a mouse. How can I use a mouse with a laptop when I use it exclusively in an over-stuffed recliner? Do I need to nail a mouse pad to the arm of the chair? This is going to keep me awake at night...

If you buy one with 10 it will be the same hardware as the one with 8 made 2 months ago.If you want 8 or 10 to look and act like 7 all you have to do in download Classic Shell and install it.

The buttons are in the normal location, but there are no "buttons". Also, the laptop was defective, I took it back and they tried the buttons, they just don't work. I got a full refund. Back to the drawing board.

I just bought a cheap HP laptop from Wallmart, like two days ago, and I cant believe how I didnt realize how much I missed having a 'regular' computer to use, but have been living off a tablet for a long time now.

I plugged in my clicky USB keyboard, and my mini optical mouse, and I don't have to learn to use the touchpad at all. I really thought I'd hate Windows 8 but it's allright, still prefer not to upgrade to Windows 10 until I have to.

This was on sale for under $200 and it was an impulse-buy that I just could not pass up. Speaker quality really sucks, but everything works great so far, moved some music files around from my phone's SD cards, backed up some pictures, downloaded a couple more browsers, AND!!!

I just downloaded OPEN OFFICE, it's called apache office or something now, but anyways, I got EVERYTHING I need for almost nothing.

I used to think you had to spend a bunch of money to get a decent computer, but technology is changing so fast, that seems to be yesterday's thinking for yesterday's needs. Some people don't bother having a regular computer at all, anymore.

Me? Not so much...

My $1,456.00 laptop arrived yesterday. They sent me an open box. Back it goes. When they get it, they'll send another in a sealed box this time. They must think I'm dumb because I spent so much on a laptop, that I wouldn't notice it had been opened

Here it is:

http://www.microcenter.com/product/451231/ThinkPad_T550_156_Ultrabook_-_Black

Loaded with Windows 7 so I can upgrade right to 10. I hope this one lasts 9 years too, but I'm not holding my breath.

I despise tablets. Know anyone who would like to buy a $500 Samsung tablet that was used 3 times? LOL
