Problems with Fresh Paint in a Surface 3, OS 8.1

I recently bought this Surface 3 last July thinking that I'll use this for my artwork and not much else. At first, the program called Fresh Paint was working fine as I learned how to use it and produce fair paintings. Today, I'm simply trying to paint some mistletoe paintings and the program, not only crashes, but deletes all my work! I'll be painting along well and then, without any warnings whatsoever, the program changes to the start screen. When I reactivate to fresh paint, I find all my work for that session gone. I tried taking this computer back to where I bought it from and they told me that I had to try MSN customer service before they would honor their own warranty for their store. Then their tech uninstalled the anti-virus and then reinstalled their latest version of Kaspersky. The problem went away for a few weeks and has now returned. I'm beginning to think it a mistake to buy this MSN product for my artwork. As the holiday season gets closer, I am wishing I had bought an Apple. I'm frustrated. What can I do besides trying to contact MSN, which, BTW doesn't seem to have an online support group I can find.

You know the one thing I can do with the Surface 3 is view facebook! Absolutely defeats the reason why I bought this! It has problems with the pen. Constantly tells me that it's running out of memory (even when it isn't), and now this! Thanks for nothing MSN!
