Anyone else having horrible problems with Google Maps in Firefox recently ?

If you have to ask "what kind of problems", you are NOT having the same problems.

Ever since Firefox upgraded to version 47.0 (a necessary security upgrade, we are informed) for Lubuntu, I have been having a terrible time trying to use Google Maps for anything. It is excruciatingly slow to load anything but the default view -- hiding the menu (or whatever it's called) on the left, resizing, moving POV, anything at all -- results in several fruitless minutes of waiting for a reload. Clicking the Reload button sometimes helps, but it may cause it to crash -- in fact, every session of Google Maps I have attempted since the upgrade was installed has ended in a browser crash, usually before I have found the info I am looking for. I never had any remotely similar issues with Google Maps before the "upgrade" of Firefox.

Does this only affect Lubuntu ? Do releases for other OSs have similar problems ?

I had been having problems with my previous install (Linux Mint 13) where every time I opened Google Maps, FF would crash. Then after restarting FF, it would run fine. :bang head:

Anyways, things are fine now. I'm back on Ubuntu, on an LTR supported untill 2021.
