Looking for anti-virus still using WinXP sp3, that doesn't bog down Firefox.(update)

Just installed Ditdefender (free) it has a button to send you on how to install XP/Vista I think it is an earlier version.
It takes a while to install but it is running and not slowing me down.

online protection like Microsoft Security Essentials.

This is built into the laptop I am now using what has Windows 7 Pro 64-bit on it.

It is useless to be honest w/you.

It fails to detect viruses that malwarebytes will find.

I can't imagine paying for any anti-virus, esp. one for Windows XP Pro service pack 3.

As for using AVG or Avast, you need some beef in that XP machine. It it doesn't have a lot of RAM you'll be moving slower than ever w/Firefox.

Best of luck is all I can say as no one is supporting XP any longer (as I am sure you know).

Provides online protection and scheduled scans, automatic updates. Doesn't appear to interfere with normal functioning of WinXP or Firefox. A license for 3 machines is pretty cheap. It may be the best deal for WinXP users.

Be sure to choose the free version on the left. When installing, de-select all the additional features that are offered. All you need is the bare minimum to give you real-time protection. You will get occasional but infrequent popups on the screen to upsell you, but you can just dismiss them.
