10 Google services you can live without - Google Search, Gmail, etc.

"As Google expands its reach, many users are looking for alternatives to its services. Can you live without Gmail? How about YouTube? Check your needs against this list." More on TechRepublic.

Since Google's new privacy policy was announced, I'm definitely using their services less, and always on the lookout for alternatives. For example, DuckDuckGo is a great search engine that respects users' privacy.

I'm interested to know, what other alternatives to Google services are folks using?

The search engine, I've found to be the best of any I've tried.
Then and again I'm old.
For a time I was locked in an office with a few DB2 applications.
What I realy want would be.....

SELECT something FROM somewhere WHERE (field IN ('value1','value2'))

I know, I know. Dream on ya old coot.

Chrome updated itself last night and deleted all my data: Home page, history, bookmarks. All lost and no way to recover them.
I downloaded Firefox and am now trying to set new bookmarks. DU was one of the first I added but I no longer have a link to DU2

And I swear it's as good as Chrome - without all the data mining going on behind the scenes.

It even takes Chrome plugins.
