Free CD's to mp3 file converter recommendation?
At one time, I used free Win Amp to convert CD's to mp3's, but it's way too complicated now. I want something simple and free. Can anyone recommend one? I went to download.com and there's way too many. I have Windows 7. Thanks!

(26,366 posts)1 - getting the audio files off the CD to your computer (called 'ripping')
The standard, excellent, freeware program for this is Exact Audio Copy (EAC)
It can be downloaded at: http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/index.php/weitere-seiten/download-from-alternative-servers-2/
(EAC homepage: http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/ )
2 - converting the audio files to .mp3s.
The standard, excellent, freeware program for converting to .mp3 is LAME
If you download and install EAC above it can automatically install LAME for you via it's configuration wizard and you can use EAC to do the
ripping and converting entirely within EAC.
