Do NOT eat Necco candy wafers with the same hand you use on your trackball mouse
This is my hot computer tip to DU'ers for 2018.
PROBLEM: After eating a few Necco wafers I noticed my cursor would not move when I turned or spun the trackball. After a few choice swear words, and some deductive reasoning, I identified the problem.
When handling a fresh Necco wafer right out of the package, I noticed the feeling of a thin layer of confectionery sugar coating deposited on my trackball thumb, probably meant to keep the wafers from sticking together. The slipperiness of the confection rendered the trackball useless.
SOLUTION: Pop out the trackball and rinse with water, and eat your Necco wafers with your other hand stupid. You're welcome...no need to thank me for this great revelation in computer operation.

Last month, the New England Confectionery Co. announced it would have to shut down if it can't find a buyer by early May, the Boston Globe reported.
Candy speculators and fans of Necco Wafers are hoarding the 171-year-old sweet that's been likened to chalk.
They're listing on eBay for up to 10 times their normal retail price.
