This is really strange.

I have been using my android tablet for my computer needs and that goes for DU too. My Samsung tablet has had charging issues for a year and is a pain in my ass. It is a touchscreen tablet and I use it since I am sick, in bed a lot and broke due to med bills and I don't have a lap top. My desk top computer is for real stuff, like printing, cut and paste, etc. and is in my living area. Well, now I have to unplug it and stick it in my bedroom using a cordless keyboard and mouse. It is a completely different experience. The stuff on the screen isn't the same as my tablet and it is disorienting. Maybe I can actually post a photo now, of course it will take months to figure that out. I can see everyone's avatar and all sorts of other stuff that isn't on my tablet. I am undecided about liking it better or not. I am almost blind and I had to enlarge it until there are about 5 words that fit on the screen at a time. I can see everyone post total too. Yes, this is weird and the jury is still out on the pros and cons between the two devices. I kind of want my familiar tablet back since it takes a long time to type and use a mouse.

I am back on my tablet now. It is more moody than I am...and that is saying something (Cancers are a very moody sign).

Whereas your desktop is probably showing DU's 'Standard' view which has more icons and information on the screen. You can change your preferences from the My Account link (located in the upper right of DU pages) to make your desktop also display the 'Mobile' view. Just scroll down to Preferred format for regular web browsers and hit the 'Mobile' button/link.

If the wifi for your tablet and your desktop are on the same local network, you might want to consider installing an app on your tablet that would let you control your desktop from your tablet - that way you could do tasks which require the desktop but still enjoy the convenience and mobility of the tablet.

I believe the Microsoft Remote Desktop app is free. I am not an Android user, so I can't review that particular app (or any Android app). But for that price, it might be worth checking out. It will probably take a little technical knowledge to set up (and it may not even work with your devices [depending on your OS version and your local network]) - so it might require some research and/or assistance to get up and running. (Or something similar like a VNC server/client package.)
