Question about my TIME WARNER/SPECTRUM TV BOX

I have TIME WARNER Cable for TV ONLY.
I never watch TV so I cancelled the account. They said Keep the "Box." Whatever that thing is called.
Today I get a bill that included $123 for "unreturned equipment." The BOX I assume.

I plan to watch NETFLIX (I get DVDs) and I also BOUGHT an indoor TV antenna that sometimes gets a local station. :&gt )))
Maybe in the future I will want to play streaming things on the TV screen. Youtube, Netflix, etc,. I don't know much about it.

Can I return 'the box' and buy something to replace it? Do I need something to replace it..?
This is what it says on the box.

Netflix and other applications (I have two of them) and never had any problems w/. If I recall, it cost about 30-40 bucks.

Got at Target.

Can I still play NETFLIX DVDs on my DVD player w/o the 'box". Just run straight from the DVD player to the TV?
god, I'm dumb about this.

But I know how to play Mahler Symphonies.

The answer to your ? is YES. You can play the DVDs on the blue ray box if the DVD received from Netflix is blue ray compatible.

One other point I want to make is that I run the modem still from Charter/Spectrum (for my internet) into my router, which then splits into separate feeds (1) into my computer (2) and another link also goes to my blue ray box (the one I am talking about here, the one you can buy for 30-40 bucks at target). In short, I have internet service from Charter/Spectrum, in order to get Netflix (I use the internet service for other things basically, but the Netflix was a bonus too).

I assume that you should be able to play the Netflix DVDs if they were blue ray compatible (which I think Netflix has). I know that Red Box (another DVD movie/games rental thing), you had blue ray discs (DVDs) too.
