Facebook and Toolbars

From going to and from Toolbars, and changing zooms and size of types, my heading is all messed up.

I can't get the toolbars to appear in IE anymore, except for Favorites. Can't get View, Tools, etc.

I went to Help and it sent me to "My Documents" where I x'd all the toolbars to show. And on "My Documents," they did show. But when I go to IE websites, the toolbars won't reappear.

I clicke Reset Default, and nothing happened.

I only play Scrabble on Facebook - NOTHING else, but I don't think it's worth all this trouble.

How can I restore my toolbars & view buttons?

1. Try this

left-click you mouse at the top of the browser screen (in the darker bar at the top.) It should give you a menu that has options such as:

Menu Bar, Favorites bar, Command bar, etc.

Make sure "Menu bar" is checked.

The only way I can access the toolbar list is in "My Documents" but it only provides the toolbars in "My Documents." Can't get "View" to appear at any site on the internet....

4. I think that's the problem - but another problem is

the damned F11 button won't bring back the original heading. It just flickers and goes back to full screen - I've lost an entire line in the heading and that's the one that gives me Tools, View, etc.

It used to be that I could access this stuff with a tiny button on the right - where the print button is, but that's gone too

I just sat thru 40 minutes of Malbyteware and I have no virus...

5. If you do that right-click at the top does it bring up the menu I described?

And are any of them checked?

Edited to add--I notivce I said "left click" above. Sorry about that--it should have been Right click.

Funny thing happened a while back, I changed sites and a pause in between showed a thin bar for an instant on a blank screen - just for an instant. My thin bar is lost somewhere.

I restarted pc and that didn't do it.

I used the full screen thingy so much that I think I wore it out...

I'm a 74 year old "girl" playing scrabble with 2 adult children. I should have my head examined. I will have to call the serviceman tomorrow...

8. Something else

Up in front of the Favorites Bar line (lucky I still have it) there's a little tab - it calls itself "new tab" and shows a tiny white sceen with a little gold star on its top right corner - real small tab.
And when you click it, it gets a repeat of the the site you're on.

10. That part is normal--it allows you to open up several pages in the same browser window.

if you right click just the right of that, does a pull down menu appear at all?

11. Just remembered something

When the Malbyteware was doing a complete scan, something came up - it said the 4 files were unknown to Microsoft and they asked me to send them to Microsoft & I did.

They never mentioned them again, but the scan showed no viruses.

However - when I looked up the thingy where you can go back in time, there was a sentence that said in effect, if something good was deleted because it was not right, I would have to go back to another date, go to system restore, add it and it should come back clean.

Too late to mess around now, but will call "the man" tomorrow. Thanks for caring and your help.

Goodnight.

12. So am I, but I got my toolbar back!

Yeah! Now I can change the size of my font.

Got it by accident. I happened to right-click the Favorites button and all the toolbars showed up on internet sites. Nothing in the directions mentioned trying the Favorites button....

The other thing I can't do anymore is move the stuff up on the heading. For instance, now I can't seem to get the Favorite Links which I love on top, and the Command bar (print, etc.) both on top at the same time. I can get either one.

It seems I used to be able to drag the features around and put all toolbars up at the same time.

How do I do that - move the lines between the toolbars?

13. I was screwing around with the underlines between the toolbars and accidentally fixed

my problem. I now have all the toolbars showing and I'll be darned if I know how I lost them in the first place.

Things seemed to get rolling when I reinstalled "Facebook Log-In" from the recycle bin. It took some stuff with it when it left, apparently..

I hate Facebook and Computers.

All night I worried about taking this thing to the shop and wondering how much it would cost me to get my Menu toolbar back.....

Now I can go out and plant my flowers....
